Responsibilities
The door attendant is primarily responsible for assisting patients and guests to and from cars, courtesy vans, Gold Cross, etc., while establishing and maintaining a pleasant and helpful relationship. Other responsibilities include: keeping the patient loading zones clear, transporting patients and specimens, calling taxi cabs and courtesy vehicles daily for patients and visitors, valet parking when required and assisting with traffic control. Wheelchair recovery is required of all door staff which may include the following: hospital floors, clinic floors, hotels and other on and off campus ancillary areas.
Qualifications
A high school diploma/or equivalent or higher education is required. Previous hospital or clinical experience is preferred. Must be able to work independently. Requires good communication, telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests and staff. Strong problem solving skills are necessary. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress. Works varied hours which may include days, evenings, days/evenings, holidays and weekends with rotating days off.Must have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record

Schedule Details
Weekday shifts could start as early as 5am or work as late as 10:15pm. Part time, 40 hours in a 2 week pay period. Shift pattern attached.
Weekend Schedule
Weekend shifts could start as early as 5:30am or work as late as 9:00pm. This position will work either 1 weekend or 1.5 weekends out of 6 weekends and will work 1 out of 6 Mayo observed holidays.
