POSITION OVERVIEW
The Safety Trainer/Facilitator will report to the Human Resources Manager. The Safety/Health/Training Facilitator role supports on-site through the Milliken Performance System, Responsible Care Management System (RC 14001), OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), and directs plant initiatives regarding safety, training, and health. This position is located at our Dewey Plant in Inman, SC. The hours are Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for new hire safety training: content, tracking, and all associated documents.
Responsible for content of new hire team.
Responsible for annual safety training: schedule, training materials, tests, training matrix, facilitation, and all associated documentation.
Develop and ensure that all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures are followed.
Responsible for safety and On-The-Job training certification process.
Obtain additional safety training/certification through external suppliers.
Follow all plant procedures to ensure no negative impacts on the Environment, Health, Safety and Responsible Care processes of Milliken Chemical.
Responsible for CST and Steering Committee, including working with all safety teams to implement initiatives.
Responsible for Safety Database Administrator – Enablon
Responsible for coordinating MPS visits and safety visits.
Responsible for maintaining safety participation data, Safety participation points, and display as requested.
Responsible for period safety audits: schedules, document preparation, tracking, etc.
Maintain controlled document such as CSD skill trees, certification, trainer/trainee files - Covalent.
Work with other department leaders to coordinate and assist in progression of training (i.e., trainer/trainee meeting, coordinate training activities, etc.)
Generate procedures as needed.
Maintain databases, historical files, and issue-controlled documents as needed.
Prepare and present safety related information internally and externally.
Attend, prepare, present, and share information obtained from period Corporate Safety Meetings.
Implement projects to improve the safety, health, and On-The-Job Training of the location.
Direct the Covalent system: ensuring material reviews and updates, communicating software upgrades, maintenance of data, management review of information, subject matter experts, and participating in audits when documentation is needed.
Stay abreast of industry, safety, industrial hygiene, and other regulations to ensure procedures and training are current.

QUALIFICATIONS HS Diploma or GED 2+ Year college degree is preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to multi-task Ability to climb stairs and obtain medical clearance to wear a full-face respirator Experience in OSHA Process Safety management (PSM) Experience in Safety Training and Emergency Response Ability to train in forklift certifications and re-certifications Proficient in Emergency Response Team Experience with chemical manufacturing procedures as they relate to safety, training, PSM, Industrial Hygiene and associates’ health
