Job Summary:
The Father Inclusive Prenatal Care (FIPC) Counselor will serve as the lead Counselor for the research study title "Preparing for Parenthood: Father Inclusive: Father Inclusive Prenatal Care¨. This is a four-year research effort funded by the Administration for Children and Families to develop better services to support young, at-risk parents in Chicago. The FIPC Study focuses on strengthening the co-parenting relationship and providing parenting education to expectant parents. We are seeking a master's Level Therapist with experience working with a culturally diverse population.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide co-parenting counseling and parent education to young expectant parents using the FIPC protocol
Work with clinical staff at various sites to integrate FIPC services into their existing programs
Services will be provided both virtual and in person, following guidelines for ensuring health and safety
Assist staff with recruitment, outreach and other collaborative work with schools and community partners
Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings to update participant status and discuss enrollment/attrition problems
Assist with support procedures for study protocol. These procedures may include screening and/or obtaining informed consent, gathering participant contact information, tracking phone calls and assisting with clinical retention of study participants.
Work with care coordinators to connect parents to specific resources and support programs
Participate in data collection, record keeping, and data entry for assigned caseload on a weekly and monthly basis
Collaborate with partner providers and staff to evaluate/assess patients, medical, physical and psycho-social needs
Attend orientation, training and staff development functions as required
Participate in team meetings and study related meetings
Perform other duties as required and assigned

Required Job Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Marriage & Family Therapy.
Experience working with adolescents/young adults in a clinical setting serving diverse populations.
Some evening (7-8 PM) and/or weekend hours (4-5 hours) will be required to accommodate patient schedules
Must demonstrate sound judgment and use of appropriate boundaries and professional demeanor.
Ability to communicate and interact with individuals and families from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to identify and maintain confidential information with integrity.
Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals as well as groups.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Basic computer skills, e.g., Microsoft Office Software.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem solve. Ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments.
Language: Bilingual. Fluent in English and Spanish.
Hours of Work: May vary based on need. Some evenings and weekends are required.
Travel: May vary based on need. Local travel is required.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Licensed to practice Social Work of Counseling in IL
