Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Records Clerk
Job description
Busy surgeons office looking for front desk receptionist/medical records clerk.
To be considered, the candidate MUST have experience in a physicians office for a least 1 year prior.
Duties included, but not limited to:
-Working front desk at satellite offices. Travel with co-workers in company car.
-Printing and billing for medical records.
- Verify insurance benefits prior to each visit.
- Collect co-pays & payments for surgery.
- Enter, verify & update patient demographics & insurance information.
- Answer multi line phones, distribute faxes and prepare patient charts.
- Notify patients of appointments & reschedule no shows.
- Scheduling referrals, imaging scans & follow up appointments.
Employee must be:
- Punctual
- Time management skills
- strong customer skills
- basic knowledge of medical terminology (orthopedic knowledge a plus)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Able to travel in company car to satellite offices in Alexandria, La & Lake Charles weekly. Leaving Lafayette office at 6:00am
Hours Include:
Monday - Thursday 8-5 PM
Friday- 8-12 (unless traveling to satellite office)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
