Duties

  • Requires team members to develop findings and recommendations for problems identified in their assigned areas.
  • Identifies and evaluates financial asset management controls, determines the accuracy and completeness of documentation and procedures.
  • Documents all cash counts and notifies the DCA, division chiefs and activity managers of the results of the reviews.
  • Works independently to obtain audit-planning information, identify sub-objectives, acquire and analyze data, assign and monitor work of team members, interpret regulations and develop preliminary findings/audit report.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and progress against milestone data, participates in in-process reviews and briefings at activity levels, immediately notifies supervisor when potential fraud is identified and recommends adjustments if required.

Qualifications

Work experience meeting the qualification requirements, whether it be the standard minimum qualifications or (if listed) established highly preferred qualifying criteria, MUST be reflected in the submitted resume for the vetting process.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

1. Progressive work experience, which demonstrates an acquired knowledge of the theories, principals, practices and techniques of performing investigations and studies as described within the duties listed above.

2. Must have knowledge of double-entry accrual method of accounting demonstrated through work experience or education that reflects ability to perform audit assignments.

3. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

4. Experience in word-processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

5. Must have experience in leading or working in a team.

6. Must possess good written and oral communication skills.

Highly Preferred Qualifying Criteria:
1. Working knowledge and ability to utilize ePAY/Blueforce payroll administration database.

2. Working knowledge and the ability to utilize FMBS (Financial Management Budget System).

3. Working knowledge and the ability to utilize CEDMS (Corporate Electronic Document Management System) payroll administration repository.

4. Working knowledge and the ability to utilize SMIRF (Standard Management Information Reports for Finance)
