If you're looking to work with a company in the Wholesale Distribution industry, Robert Half is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper. In this position, you will prepare financial statements; establish and maintain the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the organization; and handle all other general accounting and bookkeeping functions.Major responsibilities
- Overseeing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements
- Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
- Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner
- Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections
- Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets
- Filing documents to maintain historical records
- Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
- Prior payroll experience preferred
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
- Earlier work involving Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Solid understanding of Asset Inventory
- Check Runs experience
- Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
