If you're looking to work with a company in the Wholesale Distribution industry, Robert Half is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper. In this position, you will prepare financial statements; establish and maintain the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the organization; and handle all other general accounting and bookkeeping functions.

Major responsibilities

  • Overseeing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
  • Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements
  • Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner
  • Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections
  • Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets
  • Filing documents to maintain historical records
  • Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
  • Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Prior payroll experience preferred
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
  • Earlier work involving Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting
  • Solid understanding of Asset Inventory
  • Check Runs experience
  • Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
