As a General Maintenance Worker, your primary role is to perform general building maintenance and repair including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, company vehicles, and other building systems. This position will require frequent transit between our Newburgh and Fishkill locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Inspect and identify equipment in need of repair.
• Troubleshoot issues in building systems as they arise.
• Coordinate and assist with construction projects as needed.
• Plan repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals.
• Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
• When a specialized technician is needed, communicate and collaborate with the technician to facilitate repairs.
• Conduct routine maintenance on building systems.
• Maintain work space and storage in a clean and orderly manner.
• Collaborate with Purchasing Dept. to obtain supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Transport construction materials between company sites.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions from management and senior staff
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational skills and work ethic.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Related experience required (formal or informal is acceptable).

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
