Qualifications: -A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).-Prior custodial and/or maintenance work experience, preferably in a public school setting, desired.-Physical and mental capabilities to perform work including the ability to move in and out of offices, classrooms, buildings, and up and -down stairs. -Knowledge and expertise in the skilled trades: painting, electrical, mechanical, light, plumbing and grounds maintenance-Must be able to function independently, prioritize, and be able to multitask.-Must be able to lift and or move up to 75 pounds.-Must be able to work from heights greater than ten feet-Able to communicate in a respectful manner-Able to work in a team and individual setting-Valid MA drivers license-Ability to obtain a MA Hoisting license, 2AReports to: Director of Buildings and GroundsJob Goal: To assist Director of Buildings and Grounds in maintaining the Town of Grafton, School Department buildings and grounds in excellent operating conditionJob Responsibilities: -Notify Director of Buildings and Grounds concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems-Coordinate and perform general repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general mechanical areas-Maintain all boilers and other major equipment-Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks-General landscaping -Adjust and repair small engine, power and hand equipment such as lawnmowers, tractors and sprinklers, both diesel and gas-Clear snow and ice from parking lots and driveways using power and hand operated equipment during inclement weather-Maintain and mark athletic fields for instructional, extra-curricular and interscholastic use-Perform other job related tasked not mentioned above as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds
