Job Description and Responsibilities
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The manager organizes, plans, coordinates and directs the production, maintenance, tooling, and engineering operations of all departments through subordinate Managers and Supervisors to assure timely production and delivery of quality product at most economical cost.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Plans and improves standardized production methods and objectives to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
- Assures proper staffing, development of staff, training, and employee involvement, in appropriate areas
- Leads plant in continuous improvement activities in quality, service and price for all
- Troubleshoots and develops countermeasures for problems of quality, productivity, and employee relations using root-cause problem solving
- Assures safe practices and the maintenance of proper equipment conditions
- Reviews practices, procedures and leads activities directed toward implementation of Summit Lean Manufacturing Systems to eliminate all forms of waste
- Interfaces with other departmental units to ensure that customer satisfaction targets are achieved
- Develop facilities, process and equipment plans in conjunction with the KBPD process
- Responsible for environmental reporting and compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
College degree plus 4 years manufacturing experience or 6 years experience in a technical or management position in a manufacturing environment. Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices as demonstrated by a minimum score of 26 on the Wonderlic Personnel Test. Agreement to complete all post-hire required training.
