BBHS is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant Role is a supportive position to the Med-Somatic program that focuses on client/patient medical care and coordination of care with internal and external parties. This position problem-solves to ensure client has access to appropriate care by organizing the day-to-day clinic schedule and managing patient’s requests.
Responsibilities:
  • Assists with training of obtaining vitals. Obtaining vitals if there are discrepancies
  • Manages Medical Assistance Line
  • Processes medication refill requests & Prior Authorizations
  • Collaboration with pharmacy reps regarding ordering samples
  • Collaboration with provider on medication samples dispensing for patients
  • Manages Genesight Testing and Clozaril requirements
  • Coordination with other medical practices and labs to collect lab results for providers
  • Prepare schedules daily for providers
  • Orders medical and office supplies
  • Collaborates with pharmacies and other outside entities as indicated
  • Completes correct documentation and data entry
  • Offer coverage to the front desk with intake and customer care tasks
  • Maintains medication room in order and dispenses of medications when needed
  • Collaborate with hospitals, other medical facilities and other agencies to coordinate good patient care
  • Collaborate with providers and process referrals inside and outside of agency
  • Handle patient complaints in person and via phone and collaborate with provider or manager on resolution
Requirements:
  • Medical Assistant in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the medical field.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and sound techniques in all aspects of customer care
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices in management
  • Excellent written and communication skills
