Weatherford Diesel is proud to offer industry leading on-site mobile services, small to large scale repairs, and fleet-wide preventative maintenance on heavy diesel trucks and trailers in the Middle Tennessee region.

Weatherford Diesel is currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician who will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, repairs on both trucks and trailers, mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned.

Duties:

• Perform routine maintenance, scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT Inspections and follow up repairs to Class 6-8 trucks in a mobile/field environment
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, power steering systems, engines, transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges
• Document and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion
• Work with a high degree of independence and manage your own daily schedule with a high level of productivity
• Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on a service truck and perform periodic reconciliation
• Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed
• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with assigned customers and vendors
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with customers and vendors as well as colleagues
• Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as Diesel Technician on medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skill/experiences
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required
• Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions
• Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and their drivers
• Proficiency in the use of mobile devices, navigation of mobile applications and use of email to document repairs and communication. Ability to learn new platforms
• Willingness to work varied schedules and work outdoors / in the elements at customer yards/locations
• Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions
• Must be able to lift 75lbs
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and apply initiative
• Great attitude & punctuality, safety conscious, good instincts, orginization skills and self-motivation
• Working knowledge and experience of diesel products, repairs and parts

• Full Time: Monday - Friday
• Occasional weekends with overtime available

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
