Piper Companies is seeking a Nighttime Network Operations Center Engineer (NOC) to join an industry leading Internet Security organization based out of Reston, VA. The NOC Engineer will monitor and resolve alarms, open corresponding tickets, and diagnose/document issues.

Responsibilities Nighttime NOC Engineer include:

• Handle inquiries received from customers by telephone, email, or ticketing system (Servicenow)
• Monitor system and network alarms via Netcool/Nagios
• Perform research, analysis and isolation of alarms that require escalation, additional research and/or triage
• Publish information to the knowledge base within Confluence/Wiki
• Adhere to Service Levels Agreements, Operational Level Agreements and internal processes
• Track all interactions within ticketing system and route tickets to appropriate internal departments for further assistance
• Escalate issues in a timely manner

Qualifications for the Nighttime NOC Engineer include:

• 2+ years of experience in network or systems support
• 1 - 3 years networking or systems support experience
• Experience with Firewall and ACL planning and implementation, LAN/WAN environment and troubleshooting, TCP/IP, DNS, NetFlow, SNMP and internet protocols, and BGP/OSPF routing protocols
• Previous experience in a Network Operations Center
• Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems
• Ability to work nights in a 4x3 then 3x4 weekly fashion from 10 PM – 10 AM

Compensation for the Nighttime NOC Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 – Hourly: $45/hr – $50/hr
