Job Duties
1. Using both the traditional and the non-traditional formats – short-term, weekend, on-line, hybrid, web-enhanced, GECO – teach a full load of assigned courses at times when needed – (1) during the day including early morning, late afternoon, and evening and on (2) holidays and/or (3) weekends.
2. Teach a full load of business-related courses including, but not limited to Business Office Technology, Business Marketing Management Technology, and Business Administration.
3. Curriculum supervision and duties assigned by the administrative staff.
4. Improvements of the methods, content, and value of each course taught and at all times strive to better understand the students and their needs for the present and future.
5. Teach, in addition to the subject matter, good citizenship, respect for the rights of others, respect for college property and the proper attitude toward education both in and out of the classroom.
6. Attend all college, school, and general faculty meetings.
7. Establish, post, and maintain office hours as directed by college policy.
8. Counsel students in an effort to provide effective guidance.
9. Realize and act upon your importance as a public relations agent for the college.
10. Make use of the counseling office services and materials to improve teaching effectiveness.
11. Conduct class for the full class period.
12. Participate in budget preparation and acquisition of instrnctional materials and supplies as required.
13. Utilize the library, media center and learning lab materials and resources.
14. Explore alternative instructional methods of teaching.
15. Meet the professional development requirements of the college.
16. Maintain adequate records for all students and make timely reports as requested by Department Chairperson or College Administration.
17. Assume responsibility for the upkeep of laboratory and classroom equipment and inventory in the program area and the inventory of the same.
18. Assist with campus-wide student recruitment and retention efforts.
19. Serve as Advisor of SkillsUSA or other student organizations and encourage student participation and assist in all activities, conference, and competitions of this and other student organization.
20. Maintain individual student files for a minimum of three years.
21. Document college data needed for reporting purposes.
22. Perform other duties as assigned by appropriate college personnel.

Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION: Responsible for the teaching of assigned courses at assigned sites as well as the other duties and responsibilities inherent in this position. Reports to the chairperson of the School of Business, Law, Hospitality, and Culinary on the Jackson County Campus.

Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
(M2) Teaching experience in the field.
(M3) Must be knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
(M4) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
(M5) Experience using the Internet and e-mail.

Desirable Qualifications
DESIRABLE:
(D1) College teaching experience.
(D2) Knowledgeable and proficient in QuickBooks.
(D3) Knowledgeable in payroll, tax, and income accounting.
(D4) Knowledge of Pearson MyLab and/or Cengage Mindtap.
(D5) Online teaching experience using learning management systems such as Canvas.
