JOB SUMMARY

  • THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN COLORADO CITY, ARIZONA.
The Patient Services Specialist is responsible for the front-end business operations for the assigned clinic including patient registration, verification of patient demographic information, create and maintaining patient electronic chart. This position answers incoming calls to the clinic and routes as needed, schedules intake appointments within established timeframes in the CBI EHR/EPM scheduling system. Obtains necessary demographic information including, but not limited to: name, address, phone number, e-mail address, insurance information. Completes insurance verifications for each patient visit and identifies any patient amounts due at the time service is provided. For uninsured patients, identifies any potential funding source, and identifies those potentially eligible for AHCCCS and refers to the eligibility and enrollment specialist for AHCCCS screening and application. Notifies a clinical team member when registration is completed for services to be completed. Schedules follow up appointments for clinic services as indicated by the clinical team.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check-in patients via autoflow.

Facilitate patient flow from registration to clinical/medical services.
Verify demographic information.
Scan and import all related case material in a timely manner according to agency procedures.
Input all appropriate client information and client referral information.
Learn & Implement State AHCCCS program and requirements.

Input and maintain funding sources.
Create and maintain client’s electronic chart.
Collect and post co-pay/coinsurance.
Sets appointment reminders.
Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High school Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare is preferred.

1- 3 years of experience with insurance verification and/or front desk experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required of this position.
Must have knowledge of AHCCCS, insurance, and strong customer service skills.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
