We have an opening for a Unit Manager / Plant Manager at our Tampa airport location The Food Manufacturing Facility Director is accountable for managing the overall results of the plant from a manufacturing perspective, while strictly adhering to Food Safety and Quality requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for production costs, labor utilization, yield, results of Operations Cost Improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures adherence to the Company’s Food Safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices, including audit targets.
  • Continuously improve the reduction of operating costs.
  • Maintain and build a productive and positive employee relations environment through effective implementation of positive employee relations initiatives.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements Capital Improvement for plant, including the preparation and execution of a Capital Plant budget.
  • Responsible for preparing and executing the plant overhead budget, and direct product cost targets.
  • Meet or exceed customer service level targets through the synchronization of process/activities with all functional area processes, from demand planning through to the delivery to the customer.
  • Manage the performance of the hourly and salaried team through effective implementation of Human Resources processes and policies and all Leadership Edge initiatives.
  • Set and meet all Health and Safety targets.
  • Support Marketing and Product Development on new product initiatives
  • Maintains and applies knowledge through compliance with Health and Safety, Collective Agreements, and other legislative bodies that impact plant performance.
  • Responsible for adherence to all policies and procedures for Quality Assurance, Food Safety and customer specifications on a day to day basis.
  • Recognize, support and commit to the facility food safety and quality assurance promise

Leadership

  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
  • Guide, motivate and develop the subordinate employees within the Human Resources Policy
  • Participates in coaching the expanded Global Performance System (GPS) process, as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the team
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
  • Plan / Implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Global Quality Standard (GQS), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • In addition, minimum five years of relevant management/operations experience
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to build, develop, and maintain strong cross-functional teams, employee relations and union relations
  • Experience in managing multiple departments
  • Successful record in stretching to exceed Corporate expectations
  • Polished presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $103,000.00 per hour
