Principal Engineer, CMS (Remote) - Full-time

We are looking for someone eager to design solutions and innovate using a modern, headless CMS platform to deliver immersible experiences across devices, applications, and brands. You will be part of a larger eCommerce Engineering team across different areas of ownership and expertise for a beloved athletic brand. In this role, you will architect solutions that primarily focus on implementing content for React based, API-first eCommerce sites. As part of this major initiative, you will have exposure to a large array of platforms/technologies such as Mulesoft, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Algolia, Salesforce Service Cloud, Tealium, and other 3rd party ecommerce platforms.
You will work closely with local and regional stakeholders and assist your team with solutioning, triaging, workload estimation, and implementation. We expect you to have a strong technical foundation and have designed and worked on large-scale CMS projects in the past.

ASICS Digital is a division of ASICS based in Boston, Massachusetts. Our goal is to build digital technologies to better connect the ASICS brand to its consumers. We are responsible for the continued development of mobile-fitness solutions such as ASICS Runkeeper and ASICS Studio, global eCommerce platforms, and supporting digital services that encourage people to move, get fit and stay balanced.


Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with stake holders like user experience team, design systems team as well as product managers to translate visual designs into solutions that align with digital design system of atomic, system-agnostic components that scale across web experiences.
    • Implement solutions for a headless CMS optimized for global scale, driving better performance for technology, users, and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define/refine the content model, taxonomy, and content types for new projects as well as enhancements.
    • Design and implement a scalable and flexible content model that supports the organization's needs.
    • Define and manage the content schema, including data types, relationships, and metadata.
    • Review solutions from external systems integrators as well as other teams to ensure they are consistent with the enterprise architecture and design principles.
    • Create design artefacts and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained throughout every project lifecycle.
    • Provide support with regards to performance tuning, troubleshooting, cost optimization and other implementation or operational challenges.
    • Troubleshoot and triage within the team.
    • Document system designs, workflows and configuration in Miro/Confluence.

Requirements:

    • Experience implementing global, multi-site, multi-locale, headless CMS solutions.
    • Experience working in Contentstack or a similar API-first CMS platform.
    • Experience working with APIs and React or similar front-end frameworks while implementing headless CMS solutions.
    • Experience working in Jamstack technology-based projects.
    • Overall 8+ experience developing in traditional and headless CMS, web applications, React frameworks as well as APIs.
    • Experience working on migration projects from one CMS to another.
    • Experience with site building, content authoring, workflows, user roles & permissions setup.
    • Experience in agile delivery methodology.
    • Experience collaborating and working on medium/large sized engineering and QA teams.
    • Experience with performance optimization, caching, CDN, asset management, image optimization.
    • Knowledge of search engines and advanced search implementation tools.
    • Knowledge of UI development using modern web frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.
    • B.S. degree in Computer Science or I.T.
    • 8+ years of experience.

Nice to Haves:

    • Familiarity with security standards such as TLS, SSL, SSO, and data encryption.
    • Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Mulesoft and Algolia.

    • Boston, MA is the preferred location for this position (Hybrid). The Company will consider a remote work arrangement in the following locations only: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, MO, NH, NJ (except for Jersey City), NV, OH, OR, PA, NC, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, or WI.
