Reimagine What’s Possible

Air Products’ LNG business is expanding our fully modularized and productized solutions to the LNG industry, which requires a dedicated process controls engineer to provide recommendations on process controls and instrumentation decisions. This involves both strategic and tactical leadership, including product and project strategies, engineering packages for project execution, startup and aftermarket services, and control system development for products and development programs. The candidate will play a key role in achieving our expansion objectives by having ownership for the following:
  • Develop process controls execution strategies and estimates in conjunction with the broader LNG team.
  • Participate in P&ID development and operability and hazard reviews.
  • Author specifications of process control equipment including DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems as well as instrumentation and control valves
  • Participate in control system design reviews.
  • Participate in plant commissioning, BPCS / SIS validations, SAT, and startups.
  • Handle results and report to project management about progress

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of applicable work experience
  • Able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the design and implementation of control systems for process plants.
  • Experience developing BPCS / SIS architectures, control applications, and hardware specifications using Allen Bradley - additional experience with other controls platforms is a plus.
  • Have good problem-solving abilities, be ambitious, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills enabling you to work well within a multi-disciplinary design team and to liaise directly with suppliers and clients.
  • Travel opportunities may occur, both domestic and international, to clients’ offices, contractors, and plant sites 10-15 percent of the time.
