The Role: The Process Safety Engineer, reports to the EHS Manager and maintaining and implementing PSM and Occupational Safety and Health Programs to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. You will develop and ensure the implementation of strategies, programs, and procedures to support hazard analysis, incident investigation, process and occupational safety.
How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Ensure EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) Program including site and corporate PSM and safety audits
  • Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis and LOPA evaluation for existing and new facilities and projects
  • Oversee Functional Safety specification and SIS management, including development of SRS and SIL verification
  • Manage site Pre-startup Safety Review and Management of Change (MOC) programs
  • Complete Toxic Release dispersion and overpressure modeling using PHAST software to support PHA and LOPA analysis
  • Facilitate the incident investigation process to include RCA's, reporting and all associated administrative tasks
  • Create and revise site safety policies and procedures, including leading Policies and Procedures team
  • Maintain Industrial Hygiene (IH) program and oversee IH monitoring, calculations, recordkeeping and reporting
  • Accountable for oversight of safety reporting processes including OSHA 300 logs
  • Champion safety permitting processes including: Lockout-Tagout, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Excavation, Critical Lift, and Line Breaking/Process Entry
  • Responsible for approval process for Safety Data Sheets for new chemicals
  • Be the OSHA VPP Coordinator, and support VPP task force
  • Be the site subject matter expertise regarding safety, health, and industrial hygiene programs
  • Help with annual HAZCOM Training
  • Consult in the development and maintenance of Contractor Safety Training material
  • Participate in IMT drills and actual IMT events
  • Conduct all daily duties in accordance with RC 14001 program standards

Creating Extraordinary Starts With:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with process safety best practices
  • Knowledge of process safety compliance and industrial process safety-related consensus standards (OSHA, HSE, NFPA, ANSI, FM Global, API, ASME, ATEX, SEVESO, AIChE, CCPS, IChemE, etc.)
