The Grafton Job Corps Center is seeking a Recreation Specialist to join our team.

Here at Job Corps, we work with students ages 16-24 to provide them the education and career services they need to be successful members of the workforce. This position is a full time role in our recreation department working to supervise our students when they are using our recreation building and taking them on trips to various recreation activities.

Must be at least 21 years old

Schedule is: Saturday, Sunday & Monday 1-10pm Tuesday & Wednesday 3-12p, Thursday-Friday- Off

Pay for this position is $17.20 per hour with full access to benefits including vacation & sick time as allowed by the SCA, opportunity to enroll in our 401k program with company matching after 1 year, ESOP, and ample opportunities for advancement and career growth!

Position Summary

Responsible for the implementation of a diverse recreation program ensuring compliance with the recreational schedule. Oversees the daily supervision of the recreation department and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues and concerns. Develops and implements a variety of programs to appeal to the student population. Promotes health and wellness, and posts weekly and monthly recreation schedules.

Qualifications & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
