Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the ongoing recruitment process using all necessary means and supporting Ventura Foods' job candidate needs. Refer applicants for specific job openings based upon conversations with the hiring manager and screening interviews to determine the prime candidate profile. Administer pre-employment requisites for applicants. Report on staffing/headcount trends and use the knowledge to recommend upcoming headcount needs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check employment applications and examine work history, education and training, job skills, compensation needs and other qualifications of applicants and recommend job candidates to hiring managers
  • Recruit for open positions using all means available and necessary including but not limited to, VeturaFoods.com's career opportunities page, Careerbuilder.com, Monster.com, Social Networking Sites, local print media, on-site job fairs
  • Converse with hiring managers to determine job skill requirements and establish a cadidate profile the hiring manager would like to attract. Develop knowledge of business units' needs to assist with future openings.
  • Interview applicants and inform them of job duties and responsibilities, work schedules and working conditions, company policies and other related information.
  • Analyze staffing/headcount trends and use the knowledge to suggest areas where headcount is needed or could decrease.
  • Maintain records of hires, terminations, pre-employment test results and other data as requested.
  • All other activites as requested by manager.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources preferred or equilvalent experience required
  • 5- 10 years recruitment and/or staffing experience in a professional environment preferred. Food industry experience a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency necessary.

Physical Demands:**
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.

*Work Environment:*
In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards. May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
