Coordinator for Medical Staff Division
Job Summary:
Working with the Managers of the Medical Staff Division, the Medical Staff Division Coordinator is responsible for physician performance management. The coordinator is also responsible for ensuring physician documentation for coding/billing is timely and accurate.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Physician Performance Management
    • Participates in the development, implementation, and coordination of processes for service line performance management and monitoring.
    • Uses clinical knowledge and judgement to perform practitioner documentation abstractions to monitor for completeness and quality within client facility EMR systems.
      • Ensures access to client facility EMRs is maintained.
    • With Medical Staff Division leadership, coordinates and facilitates processes of practitioner professional performance evaluations (FPPE/OPPE) for new and current licensed practitioners.
    • Participates in collaboration between the Quality and Medical Staff Divisions in the organization and process improvement of performance management, including facilitation and/or participation in quality meetings as appropriate, and management of focused professional practice evaluations (FPPE).
    • Collaborates with the Medical Staff Division Manager, Finance Division and RCM vendor(s) as appropriate to identify opportunities to optimize practitioner documentation.
  • Practitioner Professional Development
    • Coordinates physician peer auditors as part of the professional development track, assigning appropriate charts or reports for review, and ensuring timely completion and uploads to appropriate software. Ensures chart audit form is functional and up to date.
    • Coordinates physician peer auditors as part of the professional development track, reviewing call schedules and facility access to appropriately notify the Rapid Response Center and visual auditing physicians when to complete visual audits. Uploads to appropriate software. Ensures visual audit form is functional and up to date.
  • Training and Education
    • Participates in the Medical Staff Division orientation presentation for new practitioners. Continuously assesses for related process improvement opportunities.
    • Collaborates with partner facilities and internal teams to monitor and manage mandatory education assignments to ensure compliance to maintain privileges.
  • Administrative
    • Maintains open communication with Medical Staff Division leadership for timely issue identification and resolution.
    • Maintains Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data pertaining to physician performance management and continuously assesses process for opportunities to improve performance
    • Analyzes internal opportunities for improvement
    • Working with the Medical Staff Division Directors and other Managers, leads internal process improvement projects
    • Attends meetings as scheduled
    • Other related duties as assigned

      • Assist in ensuring that the TeleSpecialists’ philosophy, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced throughout the organization.
      • Assist to develop and coordinate means to seek regular input from TeleSpecialists’ key constituencies regarding the quality of programs and services.
      • Assist to formulate and administer policies to ensure the integrity of both TeleSpecialists and the Medical Staff.

    • Maintain a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel.
    • Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, promote and guide qualified personnel.
    • Design, support and oversee cross-functional teams throughout TeleSpecialists.
    • Effectively enable staff so they can act on behalf of TeleSpecialists by

Supervision
  • The Medical Staff Division Coordinator reports to the Manager of Medical Staff Division.
Education and Experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years clinical experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years similar experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting at a desk and working on a computer >75% of the time
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
