Contract Manager Job Summary:
Plans, directs, develops, and implements systems and programs for the safety and security of visitors, employees, facilities and equipment. The Contract Manager also coordinates, directs and maintains operational activity and administration of the on-site security employees. Responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining compliance on all policies and procedures established by Client and Guardian Security. Directs and coordinates day-to-day Security functions, oversees investigations and safety prevention awareness. The Contract Manager ensures timely assistance to visitors and employees at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Management, Security Administration, or related field.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered with a lesser degree.

Minimum Work Experience:
  • Must have five- (5) or more years, security-related experience with preference in a corporate environment.
  • Must have three- (3) or more years, experience at the managerial level.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of safety/security related operations.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of investigative review and crime prevention techniques.
  • Must have working knowledge of administrative activity, and policy and procedures formulation.
  • Must have basic computer skills; familiar with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Permanent Employee Registration Card is required.

Supervision:

  • Directly responsible for all safety/security related functions.

Job Relationships:

  • Interacts with all levels at Client’s locations; must maintain a working knowledge of the assigned facilities, Client and Guardian security practices; ability to resolve conflicting issues across departmental lines.

  • Interacts regularly with other internal/external department managers and administrative levels to resolve issues as they arise. Routinely works with administration on a variety of issues with legal or liability implications. Serves as liaison between departments to ensure that policy, procedures and programs meet the needs of various Client groups. Serves on other various committees as necessary or required. Is actively involved in organizational preparation and on-going readiness for regulatory agencies. Liaisons with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies; in matters affecting Client locations.

Job Duties:

  • Requires the ability to handle several projects simultaneously and prioritize in order of importance.

  • Responsible for the development of programs to ensure continuous quality improvement and service satisfaction.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directs, plans and maintains safety/security programs. These programs include access control, alarm systems, identification, visitor access, parking programs and crime prevention.

  • Monitor and review CCTV feeds to ensure safety and security of visitors and employees. May need to review video for investigative purposes.

  • Create and manage Identification Badges for visitors and employees.

  • Plans and maintains programs to minimize theft and the potential for crime within and around Client’s locations.

  • Review and ensure that all Daily Logs, Incident Reports, General Orders and other required paperwork is timely and accurate with all necessary detail.

  • Responsible for ensuring department personnel comply with operating objectives, quality principles and operating expectations.

  • Review and recommend departmental policies, goals, objectives, procedures while conferring with management and employees as necessary.

  • Responsible for the selection, orientation, training, discipline and motivation of security employees.

  • Reviews programs for the training and professional development of employees.

  • Mentors and coaches staff to drive work behaviors aligned with the Mission and Vision of Guardian Security.

  • Monitors and apprises the performance of security employees.

  • Establishes career objectives with individual employees to promote upward mobility.

  • Ensures that the duties, tasks, and functions of the department under his/her responsibility are fulfilled in an efficient and effective manner at all times.

  • Develops, monitors and ensures application of all Guardian policy and procedures.

  • Responds expediently to requests of other departments for additional or enhanced security services.

  • Ensures compliance with all related federal, state, local regulatory agencies, and facility requirements.

Working Conditions:

This position will primarily be sedentary work requiring little lifting. Working in a Corporate environment, the position requires 50% sitting and 50% standing and/or walking. During different aspects of the operation, may require walking and standing for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum. Occasional stooping, kneeling, reaching, and typing required. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word required. Perceiving the nature of sound by the ear required. The ability to see and obtain impressions through the eyes of shape, size, distance, motions, or other characteristics of objects required. This requires sharp eye focus and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Occasionally requires prolonged exposure to elements during emergency situations.
