General Summary of Position


MedStar Health is looking for Security Officer I candidates at our St. Mary's/Leonardtown hospital. These positions are for MedStar St. Mary's Hospital. Available positions are for evening and night shifts and we have full-time, part-time and PRN positions available.
These positions require a valid driver's license and 1-2 years of experience for an Officer I.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities



Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Required Associate's degree preferred

For an Officer I role: 1-2 years Related security or law enforcement experience: Required or 1-2 years Medstar service in lieu of security experience: Required

DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State (DRLIC) Valid driver's license. Required and MD Special Police Commission - MDSPC Commissioned as a Special Police Officer by the State of Maryland State Police and/or District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department Preferred and Special Police Officer - DC - SPO Commissioned as a Special Police Officer by the State of Maryland State Police and/or District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department Preferred and If SPO, must satisfy ongoing training requirements to maintain SPO commission in Maryland and/or DC. Required and IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer Basic Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification from IAHSS Preferred BLS - Basic Life Support BLS (CPR) certification required within 60 days of start date. Required and Must successfully complete all MedStar initial training related to violence prevention, de-escalation and crisis prevention intervention. Required
