The Senior Analyst, Regulatory Policy will join the Statutory Accounting Team and can be based in either the Global Atlantic Boston, MA or Des Moines, IA office. This role will be primarily responsible for tracking, analyzing and communicating emerging accounting and capital guidance from the NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) which impact – or could impact – the company. Coordination with counterparts in Bermuda or other foreign regulations, or growth into those areas, is a potential development path. This is a very active and impactful area of focus for senior management, and as such the role comes with exposure to various levels and functions within the organization.
The Senior Analyst is highly organized, research-oriented, responsive, and a good communicator with a background in accounting, policy, or government relations. This role will maintain up to date information for a large group of stakeholders and will support one, or several, recurring strategy meetings on these topics.
Responsibilities include:
- Tracking a high volume of exposed and adopted guidance coming from various NAIC working groups, including Statutory Accounting, Blanks, and Risk-Based Capital Working Groups
- Creating presentations for monthly Regulatory Capital Subcommittee meetings
- Gathering information from various groups to input their topics into presentations
- Disseminating information to various groups to inform them of relevant guidance updates
- Support statutory reporting function by drafting audit footnotes
- Support statutory reporting function by ensuring that updates have been communicated to, and adopted by, the appropriate internal groups
- Being responsive to various requests for information
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years Insurance or accounting, policy, or government relations experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
- Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability
- Demonstrated research capabilities
- Advanced PowerPoint, Excel, Word skills
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future
Global Atlantic's base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic's total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. The base salary range for this role is $62,000 to $120,000.
