Location: 17 Anderson St, New Rochelle, NY 10801

Hours: 8:00am-3:30pm Monday- Friday, , 46 week position ,following school calendar (includes 6 week summer school session)

Salary: $15.50 - $17.00 dependent upon educational experience

    Knowledge of principles of Applied Behavior Analysis a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Head Teacher in all phases of running the program
    Participate in meeting the goals and objectives of the child as noted on IEP
    Responsible and dependable pattern of attendance
    Present appropriate professional appearance
    Engage in frequent verbal interactions with children
    Utilize positive redirection to manage challenging behaviors
    Participate in reflective supervision
    Assist children in toileting, including changing diapers
    Participate in staff meetings and case presentations
    Assist in other classrooms if temporary staffing adjustment is needed
    Continue in professional development including 30 hrs per License cycle of OCFS training

Qualifications: High School Diploma and 6 college credits, NYSED Assistant Teacher Certification (or working towards)

This job requires working with young children in a school setting. This position requires working with young children who may need help with self-help skills, including feeding and toileting.
