The ideal candidate will have experience in providing speech and language therapy to patients in a home health setting, as well as a strong understanding of communication.

Speech Language Pathologist Position Details:

• Type: 13 weeks contract
• Shift & Schedule: 7:30 to 4pm Monday through Friday, 2 weekend shifts per calendar month (2 Saturday, 2 Sundays, a Saturday/Sunday combo, etc)

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing skilled care to patients requiring speech therapy services in the home in conjunction with the patient, family, and the interdisciplinary team, as ordered by the physician.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Initiates, develops, implements and revises the patient’s plan of care (POC).
• Addresses all problems identified in the POC.
• Provides educational information to the patient/family/caregiver concerning knowledge deficits or needs regarding the patient’s condition.

Requirements:

• Current SLP licensure to practice Speech-Language in Washington State
• Recent clinical experience in a medical/ surgical unit, rehab, or home health setting.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
• 3 years clinical experience; experience in Home Health preferred; Geriatric experience needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current BLS certification
• Two (2) positive work references
• Successfully complete and pass a background check and drug test.

Desired for the position: Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology and experience on an inpatient rehab unit and/or acute care settings
