Installs, troubleshoots, and performs preventive maintenance of electromechanical systems, machinery, and complex support equipment to optimize equipment operation in the manufacturing areas, ensuring: Logical sequence of programmable controller during troubleshooting. Support of engineers in validation protocol execution on new or existing machine. Completion of preliminary drawings of mechanical or electrical changes for drafters.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform weekly preventive maintenance routines on a wider range of equipment to avoid program downtime while applying knowledge of processes in the use of machines to ensure successful outcomes, as well as to devise process changes and to assess new equipment and establish preventive maintenance schedules.

Check for failures in equipment and perform corrective actions to affected areas that have down time, including conducting and writing impact assessment reports of incidents and special preventive maintenance.

Document all equipment maintenance in the CMMS system, including all changes performed on equipment and documented on mechanical, electrical and/or electronic blue prints; review, follow and perform check list actions for all equipment in compliance with established work instructions and adherence with SOPs, including recording traceable information on device history records.

May collaborate on troubleshooting and recommending maintenance to limit downtime and keep production on schedule.

On time arrival to work, regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 8 hour or longer work period.

Other incidental duties: Participate in lean events; update knowledge and applications of lean tools, 5S (five s), Six Sigma, as required.

Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree or equivalent in Electronic or Mechanical ,

Three (3) years experience as an industrial mechanic required, preferably in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment, including knowledge and/or ability to: Read and analyze pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics. Troubleshoot electromechanical equipment, and pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic components of production machines and systems, as well as boiler, autoclave, and/or HVAC system operations. Upgrade and modify electromechanical and electronics equipment. Read and understand operational manuals and troubleshooting guides in order to correct electromechanical equipment failure. Operate Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs) software. Use, maintain, and store hand and precision tools, shop tools and mechanical equipment. Required

Bachelor's Degree, required.

Additional Skills:
Able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English.

Adhere to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to the manufacturing floor operations and clean room medical device manufacturing.

Must be able to work with minimum supervision and with other departments; by following detailed maintenance instructions.

Work in a Team environment, including inter-departmental teams.

Good computer skills, including MS Office and CMMS.

Good communication skills.

Substantial knowledge of routine preventive maintenance of production equipment.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices supporting a medical device environment.

Ability to provide feedback in a professional, direct, and tactful manner.

Accountable to adhere to applicable Edwards Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality System requirements to ensure our products and services consistently meet customer and regulatory.

Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.

Ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of all waste generated in the facility according to applicable laws within the waste management program (RCRA). Prepare regulatory and/or internal reports, complete waste determinations, sign waste manifests and coordinate proper training sessions to affected personnel.
