Surgical Technician

Position Summary: A surgical scrub technician is completely proficient in scrubbing all operating room procedures, and further possesses the capability to prioritize and organize their workload as delegated by their Supervisor. Scrub Tech also must demonstrate proficiency in the provision of quality patient care and efficient assistance to surgeons. The North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.

Medical City North Hills is licensed for 164 beds, has over 300 physicians and 30 medical specialties. The ER has about 39,000 visits each year and is a Level III Trauma Center. Additionally, we are a Primary Stroke Center, perform spine surgery and joint replacements and have a comprehensive cardiovascular services department. Our hospital is an accredited Cycle 5 Chest Pain Center with a cardiac rehabilitation program.

A. Graduate of a school of surgical technology required.

2. Experience:
A. One year previous experience preferred.
