Systems Engineer I

The Systems Engineer I works with users to understand and implement complex clinical and business application installs, meet system requirements, execute scripts and provide tier III application install/delivery support. S/he is responsible for documenting application installs, recommending process improvements, and re-engineer processes accordingly.
Provide hardware and software support for Windows Server operating systems, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Epic Hyperspace/Hyperdrive applications.
Utilize industry and vendor (Microsoft/Citrix/Epic ) best practices when planning ,designing, implementing solutions.
Leverage Citrix Application Layering to create and deliver images to non-prod and production environments.
Create and maintain technical support documentation for all responsible services.
Update and deploy monthly image updates, troubleshoot failures, identify remediation actions and report on compliance.
Participate in on-call to provide afterhours support.
Provide Tier 3 support working with customer and application teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
In depth knowledge and experience with Windows Server operating systems
In depth knowledge and experience with VMware virtual environments.
In depth knowledge and experience with “Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops” and “Citrix Cloud”
In depth knowledge and experience with Citrix Application Layering or equivilant technologies.
In depth knowledge and experience with Citrix Provisioning server
In depth knowledge and experience with Azure
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Deployment and management of Citrix Virtual App and Content assets in Citrix Cloud
Manage and maintain Active Directory objects, GPOs, and related enterprise management systems
Upgrade and maintain Citrix Application Layering, Imprivata, and Stratodesk appliances
Troubleshoot end user issues related to Citrix
Create and maintain documentation of Citrix processes
Maintain and participate in Disaster Recovery planning and execution
Collaborate with other technical teams and business resources
Participate in change control procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Healthcare or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
Eight or more years of healthcare information technology experience with knowledge of clinical systems.
Citrix/Epic Certification desired or must obtain Citrix/Epic training as outlined by program requirement.
A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required
Experience providing training and support to end users, preferably in a healthcare setting
Deep knowledge and understanding of clinical workflows
Exceptional problem-solving, workflow analysis and workflow improvement skills
Ability to effectively translate business requirements to functional requirements
Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the organization including both technical and non-technical staff
Ability to effectively conduct large meetings and working sessions, both formal and informal including department and clinical staff.
Self-motivated, independent and possesses the ability to learn quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including facilitation and presentation
Knowledge of Microsoft Office365 and other popular office productivity solutions
