Position Details
Located in Gonzales, Texas, reporting to the Optimization Foreman. This position has a focus on artificial lift optimization and maintenance. In this role, the candidate would be responsible for optimization, troubleshooting and maintenance schedule on pumping units, gas lift, plunger lift, and jet pumps. Position requires daily communication with lease operators, field foreman, and engineers to troubleshoot and optimize production from Ranger’s 700 + wells. Extensive experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing gas lift, rod pump, and plunger lift is required.
Optimization Tech Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnosis of problems with artificial lift
- Operation of Echo meter and interpretation of results
- Analysis of dyno cards and making changes to controllers
- Analysis of plunger run times and changes to settings
- Analysis of gas lift performance
- Optimization of all forms of artificial lift to result in more production and longer run time.
- Monthly reporting of maintenance programs
- Setup and commissioning of new artificial lift installations
- Supervise slick line units
- Participate in well reviews and execution plan
- Inspect, maintain, and operate Company-owned equipment and vehicles.
- Take action to optimize oil and gas production from each well and/or pipeline system.
- Coordinate work with contract personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills
- Management of slick line units
- Echo meter certification
- Advanced knowledge on both surface and down hole equipment
- Extensive background in artificial lift optimization including rod pumps, gas lift, plunger lift and jet pumps.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, have good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Able to be on call 24/7.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry 50# above the waist.
- Must be about to ascend/descend firewall crossovers and tank battery stairways.
- Must be able to climb and work from a ladder.
- Must be able to use hand-tools (hammer, pipe wrench, etc.)
- Must be able to work in the extreme elements of South Texas.
