Key Role:

Support a senior Defense client as an Action Officer by applying comprehensive knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System to support customers in the analysis and improvement of acquisition policy, process, and procedures by demonstrating knowledge management activities, monitoring action tracking management systems, finalizing and packaging draft documents for signature consistent with governmental requirements and organizational management for the collection, collation, reference, and analysis of comments and proposals during document development or update. Provide analytical support for the development of recommendations and execute plans applying acquisition expertise in response to statutory, regulatory, and policy updates by supporting the analysis of directives, instructions, manuals, or memoranda. Devise innovative strategies for deploying and implementing new acquisition policy initiatives and measuring the effectiveness of the implementation, including preparing guidance, charts, presentations, or digital materials for use online. Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas by facilitating timely and accurate responses to inquiries specified and approved by organizational leadership. Work on unusually complex problems to provide creative solutions, by assisting with the research for and preparation of responses to external entities, including Congress. Serve as organization spokesperson on specialized projects or programs, including coordinating and facilitating ongoing engagements with partner organizations, including DAU.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with supporting defense acquisition policy analysis at a Service Headquarters, Component Headquarters, Defense or Field Operating Agency, Major Subordinate Command, Army Corps, Program Executive Office, or Joint Staff level
  • Experience with DoD 5000 series policies, the Defense Acquisition Guidebook and transition to Functional policies, and government acquisition policies, instructions, memoranda, and guidance
  • Experience as a Service HQ or Joint Staff Action Officer, including coordinating, publishing, and implementing issuances and department-level policies, engaging on Congressional and GAO taskers, and facilitating government correspondence and task management
  • Experience with acquisition pathways, the adaptive acquisition framework, and NDAA defense acquisition guidance
  • Experience in working with senior government executives and staff
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience as a project manager, action officer, or policy or program analyst in DoD
  • Experience with acquisition management for a Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP)
  • Experience with supporting multiple projects and activities simultaneously
  • Experience with developing, evaluating, and adjudicating acquisition strategies, performing analyses, developing and editing documentation, and applying Defense Acquisition System expertise
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • PMP Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
