Job description

The Solar Electrical Apprentice will work under the direction of the Licensed Electrician, and together with other members of the install team, to ensure all electrical portions of the installation are completed on the assigned project in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

Working Conditions

• Indoor as well as outdoor year-round in varying weather conditions and temperatures
• Must be willing and able to work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, roofs of varying pitches, trenches
• Work hours will vary depending on project size and complexity

Duties/Responsibilities

• Apprentices will conduct themselves in a professional respectful manner at all times
• Communicate with the Warehouse Tech to ensure all electrical supplies necessary for the day’s install are accounted for and stocked in the truck.
• Ensure electrical truck is maintained in a clean and organized fashion at all times
• Report any and all vehicle deficiencies to the Fleet Manager in a timely manner
• Communicate relevant information (power outages, job status, safety, etc) to the customer upon arrival and completion in a professional manner.
• Observe all safety guidelines at all times
• Attend Inspections as necessary
• Perform service work and electrical upgrades as necessary
• Complete all required documentation, including pictures and reports, and upload daily
• Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

· 18+ years of age

· Must be team oriented

· Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

· Experience in flat and tilt mounted rail systems along with top mount and shared rail systems

· Experience in roof wiring, grounding and installing micro inverters

· 6 months of PV experience and be familiar with NEC requirements related to PV installs

· Familiar with, and possession of, basic hand and power tools commonly used in solar work

· Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the install

· Familiar with OSHA standards and fall prevention

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
