Enjoy working with kids? The behavioral technician position is as rewarding as it is fun! As a behavior technician, you will be responsible for the direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy of children with developmental disabilities. While working with children ages 2-18, you will use play to build social and leisure skills, help develop expressive communication, understanding of language, self-help skills, and decrease maladaptive behaviors. Therapy occurs in our center or in the child's home

  • $14.25+/hour starting with no experience and/or no additional education, higher rate with experience and education

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other related developmental disabilities to teach them necessary life skills within their homes, the center and/or community settings.
  • Work closely with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Supervisor to ensure correct implementation of treatment.
  • Implement behavior procedures accordingly with treatment plans created by the BCBA Supervisor.
  • Attend mandatory team meetings.
  • Complete daily session notes.
  • Other miscellaneous responsibilities assigned by the BCBA Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Bachelor's Degree in a human services or related field (psychology, sociology, early childhood development, etc.), preferred, but not required.
  • Registered Behavior Technician certification, preferred, but not required.
  • Undergo a background check at the time of application.
  • Ability to work 1:1 with children ages 2-18 with disabilities.
  • Ability and willingness to work through challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and spend time on your feet, as well as an ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population of children and families.
  • Demonstrate creativity to provide support and achieve positive outcomes for all clients.
  • Reliable transportation, driver's license, insurance, and cellular telephone.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple locations throughout the work day as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Work with integrity and maintain strict confidentiality/HIPPA guidelines.
  • Must be available weekday evenings and some weekends.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to take direction from senior staff members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $14.25 per hour
