Located in the heart of Garden City, the Hotel is a stone’s throw away from Manhattan, only 15 miles by car or 45 minutes by Long Island Railroad.

We currently have a career opportunity available for an experienced Café Attendant & Room Service Coordinator for our newest luxury guest service offering, Crave45 and In Room Dining.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Café Attendant

Greet customers including answering phones and directing customer inquiries to appropriate party.

· Handle cash transactions between customer and retail store.

· Answer routine billing questions/issues from customers.

· Receive and process all payments according to standard procedures.

· Stock products.

· Ring up item using Micros POS.

· Clean & maintain store, displays, equipment.

· Processes credit and debit cards and room charges.

· Communicate orders with supervisor / manager.

· Count money back to customer in an accurate and concise manner.

· Assist in the opening and closing of a retail location which includes but is not limited to cash handling and deposits.

· Inform customers about services available and assess customer needs.

· Examine products being purchased for damages and price accuracy.

· Resolve escalated issues with customers.

· Train and sometimes supervise new cashiers or retail workers.

· Assist in the maintenance of store front and retail displays.

· Complete, process, and maintain applicable paperwork and records.

· Count the cash in the drawer at the end of the day ensuring cash equals receipts.

Room Service Coordinator:

Answer all incoming calls from hotel and in-house guests requesting assistance in a positive, friendly manner, dispatch requests to appropriate department, and follow up that action has been taken.

· Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.

· Take guests' food and beverage Room Service orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques and following all departmental standards.

· Ensure accuracy of guest name and room number of each order for delivery.

· Input orders into POS system and distribute to Servers; ensure authorization for room charges.

· Access all functions of the POS system in accordance to specifications.

· Ensure timely set up and delivery of orders.

· Input charges for amenity orders and coordinate delivery of such with Room Service Servers.

· Authorize all payment methods in accordance with accounting procedures and policies for amenities and hospitality functions.

· Work as a team, assisting all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.

· Effectively communicate with management, Chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.

· Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

· Be familiar with all Hotel services, features and local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

Requirements:

· Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role in sales

· Basic PC knowledge

· Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and Micros POS

· Good math skills

· Excellent communication and time management skills

· Customer satisfaction-oriented

· High school degree
