The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) is responsible for monitoring the activities of insurance companies, agencies and agents doing business in Wisconsin to ensure that they comply with Wisconsin insurance laws and regulations.

Position Summary


This position provides support to Central Files and Reception Unit staff and Patients Compensation Fund staff. This position is responsible for organization and inventory management of confidential and nonconfidential agency records. This position will assist in special projects and assignments directed by the direct supervisor.

Salary Information


This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 02-08 with an hourly pay rate of $14.00- $16.19 per hour. This position is non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Job Details


Due to the nature of the position, OCI will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. OCI does not sponsor visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.

This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year). Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions. Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.

Qualifications


Minimal qualified candidates will have:

  • Experience with general administrative/clerical tasks (e.g., scanning, organizing, and creating lists to document inventory, etc.).
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook or comparable.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Education or experience in basic record keeping practices and procedures.
