The role of a CNC Operator - Full-Time involves the operation of computer numeric controlled (CNC) heavy machinery for the production of metal parts and tools. Other machinery, including CNC vertical and horizontal lathes and horizontal boring mills, may also be operated.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete setups and machine tool operations as required
  • Review, interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings, sample parts, and specifications to determine product dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements
  • Read and interpret all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Indicate reference points and dimensions on material or parts to be machined
  • Secure attachments, accessories, cutting tools, holding fixtures, and materials on machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to align and select controls for regulating machining factors such as speed, coolant flow, feed, and angle of cut
  • Observe machine operations to identify potential malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls accordingly
  • Ensure that all finished parts conform to specifications before delivery
  • Improve quality of the product and reduce costs through innovative methods
  • Assist with maintenance, including diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance
  • Adhere to departmental and company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the job as determined by management
  • Ensure safe operations by following safety policies and regulations

Position Requirements:

  • At least a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience of two or more years
  • Ability to speak and understand English
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program for machinists or equivalent training
  • Programming skills are preferred
  • Knowledge of machines such as Okuma, Haas, and Mori Seki is preferred
  • Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections
  • Demonstrated ability to operate most or all of the machines effectively
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of tool geometry and application
  • Working knowledge of speed and feed effects
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work overtime as required

The salary will be based on experience, with shift differentials applying. Health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k plans with employer matching, are available through Tibor.

  • Ability to read blueprints

You will use the following machines and technologies:

  • Okuma and Dmg Mori Seiki CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)
  • Haas CNC Lathe (2-4 axis)

$18 - $23 / hr
