Precast Concrete Laborer

CR-CRETE INC. specializes in the design, engineering, manufacture, and installation of decorative precast concrete wall panels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs a wide range of duties within the warehouse related to the production of concrete wall panels, columns, and other concrete products, including but not limited:

  • Strip and clean concrete molds, forms, and products
  • Sweep and remove waste concrete from work area
  • Set up, form, and pour concrete molds and other products
  • Shovel, vibrate, and finish concrete and concrete products
  • Strip out panels and columns after completion
  • Patch and repair panels and columns as needed
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and front-end loaders, in a safe and responsible manner
  • Cut, bend, place, tie, and weld steel rebar
  • Prepare steel cages for filling with concrete
  • Facility maintenance and housekeeping
  • Stage product and truck loading
  • Complete daily preventive maintenance tasks as assigned, including tool maintenance
  • Accurately measure using a tape measure
  • Operate power tools safely, accurately, and efficiently:
  • Table Saws
  • Hand Saws
  • Miter Saws
  • Band Saw
  • Drills and Screw Guns

Employee must have the ability to:

  • Work professionally, cooperatively, and politely in a team environment and with customers.
  • Learn, organize, and prioritize work, delegate tasks, as necessary.
  • Handle multiple tasks, work independently, recognize issues, and solve problems.
  • Use hands and fingers and have manual dexterity.
  • Stand/bend/stretch/reach/kneel/crawl, etc.
  • Stand for sustained periods of time.
  • Climb ladders and have no fear of heights.
  • Read a tape measure.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds or more (occasionally)
  • Squat, crawl, and kneel to complete tasks
  • Frequent walking/standing (6+ hrs/day)
  • Frequent climbing of ladders

Safety Standards:

  • All accidents, incidents, and near misses occurring on the job site must be immediately reported to your supervisor.
  • All safety and health hazards must be reported to supervisors.
  • All Employees are asked to take necessary actions to establish an immediate temporary control of the hazard until permanent control can be established.
  • Maintain and utilize all PPE provided.
  • Attend and participate in all required safety training and meetings.
  • Learn and comply with all safety rules, policies, and regulations applicable to your work.
  • Work safely in a manner to ensure your safety as well as the safety of those around you.
  • Follow all safety rules.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Must be 18 yrs old or older.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • General knowledge of manual labor
  • Read and understand shop tickets, documents, drawings and follow instructions (whether presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form).
  • Able to work with and apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Speak proficient English (Spanish Bilingual is preferred but not required.)

Key Competencies:

  • Proficient in safety regulations and quality control-related items.
  • Must have sufficient keen vision and clear speech to perform the essential functions of the job effectively.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation to and from construction jobsites and/or shop.
  • Regularly attend work and be punctual.
  • Must be skilled in using both hand and power tools.
