Regular work hours may be staggered, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday.
6:30am – 3:00pm
7:00am – 3:30pm
7:30am – 4:00pm
8:00am – 4:30pm
8:30am – 5:00pm

The Cytotechnologist independently performs and monitors processes such as smear preparation, slide fixation, cell block preparation, monolayer filtration processing, and staining. If a discrepancy is identified with these processes, the cytotechnologist will troubleshoot and take corrective action. The cytotechnologist may act as a technical resource in writing and establishing new processes or procedures and updating old ones. The cytotechnologist performs a full range of specialized tasks, including collecting, compiling, and analyzing data according to the laboratory quality management program. This includes cytology histology correlations, 10 percent reviews, 5-year retrospective pap reviews and lab statistics. The cytotechnologist uses these laboratory data to implement any needed quality improvement initiatives. The incumbent will research, test, validate, and implement new procedures and equipment. Will type up reports, code reports, file slides/ reports and keep a system for send outs and receiving outside slides.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
PE 1. Minimum 5 years of Cytology Experience PE 2. Minimum 2 years Non-Gyn Experience PE 3. Minimum 2 years FNA Procedure Experience
Must submit copy of Cytotechnologist (CT) (ASCP) or Specialist in Cytotechnology (SCT) (ASCP) certification given by the ASCP Board of Certification documentation
