PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The Crocker Art Museum brings people together and connects them in unexpected ways with art, ideas, each other, and the world around them. This position helps fulfil this by performing data entry tasks for the Development Department, and providing excellent customer service to Museum members, donors, and visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Enter daily membership and other development gift transactions into the donor database.
  • Enter and update biographical and address information, member and development event attendance, and other database coding to maintain database accuracy.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and emails for the Development Department, to assist with sales and general inquiries.
  • Send payment reminders, invoices, and renewal letters.
  • Create and mail acknowledgement letters for all gifts.
  • Prepare department mailings.
  • Assist in the fulfillment of membership benefits.
  • Sell memberships at onsite and external events, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Have a complete understanding of Museum activities and products to effectively communicate this information to members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with members, visitors, volunteers, vendors, etc. in written and verbal form.
  • Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and across departments
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and diplomatic skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, and basic PC usage.
  • 1-2 years office or non-profit experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately perform data entry.
  • Prior database is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

· Weekend and evening work may be required.
