Our Ideal Candidate: Have at least 5 years of Mechanic experience in the truck/diesel engine repair industry with large fleet or multiple sites preferred. Cummins exp. a plus

Job Summary: Under minimal supervision, performs complex servicing, maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.

· Provided supervision, technical guidance and instruction to lower level mechanics upon request

· Performs general mechanical overhaul and repair work on trucks, tractors, loaders, automobiles, and other related types of vehicles and equipment

· Oversees and conducts repairs on brake, engine, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, ignition, air, exhaust, axle assemblies and related systems on all types of equipment

· Inspects, adjusts and replaces components and related parts including valves, pistons, main bearing assemblies, and cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems.

· Repairs and overhauls transmissions, differentials, front and rear axle assemblies and ignition systems

· Inspect, repairs, and reassembles air compressors, pumps, and related equipment; repairs, rebuilds, and install hydraulic jacks, pumps, cylinders, and controls.

· Welds and modifies equipment and fabricates parts as needed or as directed.

· Completes paperwork associated with repairing equipment and keeps accurate records to meet all DOT requirements

· Ensures that all equipment released to the field meets or exceeds DOT standards.

· Make road calls to service disabled vehicles.

· Keeps shop clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety and efficiency.

· Follows all safety policies and procedures.

· Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or other management employees

Position Requirements:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· CDL A License preferred

· Welding/Fabrication Skills

· Advanced diagnostic/troubleshooting skills

· 5+ years Heavy equipment/diesel repair experience

· Ability to read and comprehend schematics, operation, service and safety manuals

· Basic computer skills
