What You'll Do:
The Principal Financial Group is seeking a Director for the B&P Distribution teams across the organization! As the director you will be responsible for developing and driving strategic business and operational strategies to help expand opportunities. As a leader in this area, you’ll develop processes and procedures for new business initiatives, help build operational efficiencies and acts as a liaison between business staff and strategic working groups.

In addition, you'll:
  • Lead and coordinate teams to strategize, plan and implement a variety of programs, services and initiatives that are significant in scope, complexity and risk that help drive the B&P Distribution team. Provide leadership in the management of relationships and integration and implementation of programs, services, and initiatives with cross functional business partners.
  • Identify, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and controls within scope of programs/initiatives to optimize results while ensuring compliance with enterprise policies. Proactively identify potential risks when implementing change, along with developing a mitigation strategy and plan.
  • Prepare material, including high-level presentations, pre-reads, and handouts for senior management discussions. Lead high level, cross-functional communication strategies and projects.
  • Develop and direct specific innovative efforts aligned with strategy to drive future growth. Ensure detailed research is conducted, determines strategic direction, and develops plan of action. Identifies and analyzes standard methodologies and opportunities to leverage processes, products, solutions, etc. across lines of business and the organization.

Who You Are:
  • 10 + years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Must have broad knowledge of financial services industry and be skilled in idea creation, research, and analysis
  • Ability to problem solve, operate in an unstructured environment, and lead concurrent projects
  • Excellent project management, presentation and oral/written communication skills needed
  • Must be very analytical with the ability to put data and information together to understand trends and recommend solutions to close gaps
  • Must be able to work independently and in collaboration to achieve goals
  • Experience and consistent record with developing and advising execution of successful strategies
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills required
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Ability to handle several tasks and priorities at one time
  • Detail and results oriented, ability to work independently, and offer creative solutions to problems
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $137000 - $185000 / year Additional Information:
