Position Summary

Under close supervision, performs electrical maintenance and/or repairs adhering to all safety rules.


  • The hiring manager will also consider candidates for Electrician II. Level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Performs electrical maintenance including troubleshooting electronic malfunctions, maintaining or replacing electronic equipment, and installing, moving and maintaining telephone equipment.


Assists senior electricians in inspecting and repairing electronic/electrical systems to prevent shutdowns and/or major overhauls. Assists in repairing, replacing, installing or altering systems according to trade practices and National Electrical Code.


Assists senior electricians in checking and maintaining systems after installations and makes necessary changes, adjustments and modifications according to blueprints, schematics and manufacturers' specifications.


Learns and applies proper maintenance and techniques on systems as required.


Performs general maintenance as assigned.


Must be willing to respond to emergencies or situations needing immediate attention that may occur outside of regular schedule.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of one year of trade school required. Working knowledge of proper procedures in operating high voltage equipment and in installation and maintaining telecommunications equipment required. Thorough knowledge of proper safety procedures and the National Electrical Code required. Working knowledge of electronics required. Valid drivers' license required.
