GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Communications & Engagement Specialist works closely with the Sr. Director, Communications and Engagement and all members of the Communications & Engagement team to support broad range of projects, including the day-to-day Associate communications, recognition and engagement activities targeted to Associates in the Buying Offices.

This position requires a communications "generalist" who will provide writing, project management and logistical support for internal communications, live meetings and activities designed to educate and engage Associates, drive emotional connection to the Ross and dd's brands, support business objectives and reinforce the company culture.

This position requires a highly organized and energetic individual who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and can easily adapt to last-minute changes or unexpected requests. This individual must have strong relationship-building and communications skills and is comfortable interfacing with all levels of people across the organization.

The base salary range for this role is $61,400 - $91,850. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Communications Support

  • Work closely with the Sr. Director, Communications and Engagement to provide communications support for a broad range of topics and programs.

  • Serve as a point of contact for routine communications needs and special requests from NYBO-based functional business partners.

Project Management

  • Maintain calendar to coordinate communications & engagement activities across the Company.

  • Contribute and publish content to the Company's intranet as needed.

  • Assist with management of department budget, including submission of invoices. Work closely with Finance and department VP to reconcile invoice tracking and prepare monthly forecast and accrual reporting.

Vendor and Associate Engagement Activities

  • Provide project management support for a variety of communications and engagement initiatives across all offices. Work with communications team members to ensure all facets of their programs are executed as planned.

  • Manage logistics and provide event management and technical support for Vendor-facing and Associate engagement events (i.e. Quarterly Meetings, in-person events, holiday gift distribution).

  • Assist in coordination of monthly Associate celebrations in Buying Offices. Interface with vendors, manage scheduling, communications, and day of logistics.

  • Oversee the Service Anniversary program across the Buying Offices to ensure milestone anniversaries are celebrated and award presented in a timely fashion. Includes writing monthly emails and distributing awards.

  • Assist in coordination of Volunteer events throughout the Buying Offices.

  • Maintain and track CSR Scorecard of all Volunteer and Philanthropic events across the Buying Offices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS degree in English, Communications, or related field

  • 2+ years of relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to distill information into easy-to-understand, actionable messages

  • Outstanding project management skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong judgment and interpersonal skills, including ability to build personal credibility and trust.

  • Organized and independent worker with ability to problem solve.

  • Experience working with SharePoint/Office 365 a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. This position requires the ability to use a computer, work as part of a team, and the ability to communicate with team members and others. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
