Job Summary

As a member of the reclamation and/or aggregate crew, the equipment operator is expected to safely and efficiently operate various pieces of mobile equipment. Activities include completing pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and operating equipment while completing site related reclamation, production, and sales activities. As a member of the team, the equipment operator may be required to assist with maintenance, repair, operations, and housekeeping around the plant as requested by Reclamation Superintendent or Aggregate Manager. Equipment includes: Loader, Dozer, Blade, Excavator, Rubber Tire Dozer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Inspect Equipment prior to shift for safety, environmental and maintenance defects
  • Complete Daily pre/post equipment inspections – report a needed
  • Inspect wear Items on equipment & report as needed to shop, foreman, and management
  • Ensure areas under your scope of responsibility remain in environmental compliance and complete any needed environmental reports
  • Load hoppers and trucks with limited spillage
  • Ensure fill is placed in accordance with Fill Operating Plan (FOP) and regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure site remains compliant with all MSHA, OSHA and EPA standards

Skills

  • 3-5 years mobile equipment operational experience on various models of bull dozers, excavators, loaders, blades, RTD’s
  • Must be able to operate machine with little or no supervision
  • Must understand all of your controls and have experience with various types of equipment accessories/blades/attachments
  • Use bucket scales to optimize truck loading
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle
  • Understands MSHA and OSHA regulations
  • Must have a strong, team oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, balance, crawl, and climb
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a routine basis
  • Work in an environment that may include mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises requiring the consistent use of proper PPE
  • Ability to work overtime and various shift times as required
  • Ability to work weekend as required to meet customer demands
