We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Facilities Manager role to support our Bowling Green, KY plant. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to gain valuable experience with a greenfield operation and contribute to a growing company.


Job Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for safe, proper, and efficient operation of the entire plant facilities at the Envision AESC Battery Plant production facility. Provides engineering support to assigned areas in manufacturing, maintenance, and facility operations. Recommends, plans, coordinates, documents, and implements plant and process control systems on a company wide basis. Performs system evaluations on facilities. Develops specifications for new models and modifications to existing models to improve production uptime in assigned areas. Coordinates with contractors in assigned areas to provide engineering support, technical assistance, and training. Communicates with suppliers to provide guidelines, specifications, and engineering support to ensure Envision AESC goals of quality, cost, time and delivery. Creates and manages a budget. Contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth. Job Functions

The following job function statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of this position

  • Assign and schedule work tasks with other facility technicians in a team-oriented environment and perform initial evaluations of building systems and distribute work assignments.
  • Work with the Maintenance Planning department to evaluate needs for all work requests—both scheduled and unscheduled—as well as any special projects that arise.
  • Coordinate and follow up on preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, plumbing, electrical, overhead doors, and any other mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate and assist in repairs involving basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Read blueprints and plan projects to complete assigned tasks, and coordinate and follow up on incidental carpentry, masonry, and painting and plaster work.
  • Review and maintain maintenance logs and maintenance budgets and complete any and all documentation necessary to the completion of a task.
  • Provides specification, design, and installation support for manufacturing and facility operations
  • Ensures all equipment, facility systems, and utilities in assigned areas are in an acceptable state of operation and repair.
  • Monitors and records predictive maintenance measures and works cooperatively with outside vendors
  • Updates and maintains electrical, schematic, and mechanical drawings for new and modified equipment in assigned areas
  • Develops and implements safety procedures for equipment in assigned areas
  • Provides system problem solving; ensures continuous reliability and uptime improvement, accuracy and ease of use enhancements, analysis of trends and symptoms, and identification of missing or misleading information in assigned areas.
  • Assists with new project development and resource and budget planning within assigned areas
  • Facilitates project folder preparation, project management, and model and capacity studies with budget development
  • Communicates with suppliers concerning performance of their products, improvement, and potential cost savings
  • Works with suppliers to investigate new technologies for improved manufacturing methods and higher quality products, and to resolve problems and concerns
  • Trains and supports contract staff in assigned areas
  • Provides afterhours engineering response to emergent manufacturing support problems
  • Provides system maintenance and management support by monitoring system performance conducting operating system tuning and system troubleshooting; updates and modifies the preventative maintenance program
  • As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative


Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working and leading a team across cultural and discipline boundaries
  • A vast understanding of facilities engineering and what that entails


Job Knowledge and Skill:

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skills and Data Driven Decision-Making skills
  • Independent, driven, eager to learn, has strong time management skills, and the ability to manage simultaneous and often changing priorities
  • Works well in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working and leading a team across cultural and discipline boundaries
  • Must have good understanding of root cause analysis (RCA), problem solving techniques, and process control management for quality and throughput issue resolution.
  • Ability to lead and provide direction
  • Knowledge of Envision AESC corporate policies, Envision AESC engineering standards, ISO14000, federal, state, and local laws relating to safety, electric, and building codes
  • Ability to develop conceptual level designs and cost estimates for future model studies
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, welding, and mechanical fields
  • Able to work and lead contractors through the process of RFP to commissioning of equipment
  • Must have above average troubleshooting and computer skills, and be capable of working without close supervision


Experience:

  • Minimum seven years of comprehensive experience working in a technical capacity supporting an industrial manufacturing environment involving complex automated equipment. Maintenance/Engineering experience is highly desired.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility preferred
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier experience a plus
  • New model experience and equipment design, installation, and commissioning a plus
  • New plant design, build, and commissioning is a plus


Supervisory Experience:

One to two years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors. This includes training new employees, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most time in work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates.


Education:

A four-year degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology required.


Computer Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to create specialized applications or products of a highly technical nature.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Proficiency with conferencing systems (Microsoft Teams)


Travel:


Domestic and International Travel up to 20%. Heavy international travel during the construction phase of the buildings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

When construction is complete, the work environment will be primarily a climate controlled, automated manufacturing plant with light to moderate noise and forklift traffic.

The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
