Financial Reporting Director


The American National Finance Department is seeking a full-time, Financial Reporting Director to effectively support and lead high priority initiatives. Your experience in public auditing, participation in year-end closings, and the ability to effectively evaluate internal controls will directly enhance organizational goals.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the timely completion of annual audits
  • Apply public audit experience to assess internal controls, identify potential risks, and recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of financial reporting procedures
  • Develop and implement process improvements, and internal control enhancements to streamline financial reporting and strengthen the control environment
  • Prepare and analyze periodic financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and other applicable regulations
  • Assess the effectiveness of the financial reporting procedures and identify areas of improvement
  • Oversee the quality and accuracy of responses to audit inquiries with the goal to reduce follow up requests
  • Ensure both accuracy and completeness of financial data


Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Big four audit experience within the financial services industry
  • CPA designation or equivalent certification is highly preferred
  • Public audit and internal control experience
  • Availability to work onsite at the League City, Texas. campus. Please discuss with your recruiter

Salary for this position can range from $100,000 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $128,000 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
