Work Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00AM-3:30PM & Friday 7:00AM-3:00PM

Rate of Pay:

Trainee Starting Rate $21.29 per hour

3 mo. $21.50 per hour

6 mo. (Max Rate) $21.91 per hour

Purpose: Individuals in this position are responsible for effectively tracking, storing, picking, securing, and staging material/product in staging area. This individual will also have the responsibility of loading material/product onto trucks to be shipped to our customers.

Responsibilities:

Obtain and maintain good standing Tru Vue Forklift Operation License (Class I and II).

Maintain forklift in safe operational condition daily and report deficiencies to supervisor.

Load and unload product from trucks.

Utilize mobile or desktop computer unit to guarantee the accurate entry and location of products within our MRP system.

Secure product to pallets by stretch wrapping pallets or plastic banding.

Transport product safely between racks and staging areas, while noting quantities and assuring the proper product is ready for shipment and in the accurate location.

Practice good housekeeping in work area.

Perform cycle counts, 6S audits, order audits, and other inventory functions.

Work with team members to ensure consistent company wide material programs are implemented and adhered to.

Assemble crates and pack, when necessary.

Generate and document continuous improvement and elimination of waste suggestions in the established manner.

Learn, understand, and follow documented work procedures.

Have high sensitivity to quality and on-time delivery of products and services.

Interact and function effectively in a team environment.

Assist in development of work instructions, projects, and support other departments, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

(Include education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required.)

Education and Experience: (minimum requirements)

1. High School education or equivalency preferred

2. Three years work experience in manufacturing/warehouse/distribution environment required

3. Two to three years forklift experience required

4. Computer knowledge required

5. Experience with an inventory software (i.e. WMS, AS400, Dataflo)

6. Ability to read English

7. Basic math skills

8. Basic awareness of factory safety

9. Interpersonal skills necessary to work in team environment

10. Ability to work with minimal supervision

11. Attention to detail

12. Flexibility with schedule. Depending on business and department needs, you may be asked to work different shift.

13. Experience with storing and retrieval of product 20 plus feet high.

Environmental and Atmospheric Conditions

These conditions are representative of the manufacturing areas;

- Batching operation where chemicals are blended; area is enclosed and has exhaust.

- Paper/cardboard is handled; dust/dirt from wrappings and products may be present.

- Ambient temperature varies (heat and cold).

- Manufacturing is a Hearing Conservation Area; noise level is between 85 and 89.9 decibels.

Working Conditions

Safety is of utmost concern in the work environment because of moving machinery and products that are sharp. Everyone is required to abide by Plant Safety Rules.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

PPE such as steel toe boots/shoes are worn, Safety Glasses, hearing protection, and Kevlar sleeves, Kevlar gloves, Cain Mesh aprons as needed, and other devices are worn to protect Personal from hazards during the performance of work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit while operating a powered industrial lift truck. Walking and standing are generally minimal unless use of a stand up truck is required than standing would be frequent. Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls is also frequent. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear and reach with hands and arms. This position is defined as medium to heavy work by the Department of Labor. The following physical abilities are required to perform the task:

- Lifting < 65 pounds at a time occasionally (33%). Frequent handling, (combination of lifting/sliding/carrying and positioning) objects weighting up to 150 pounds.

- Stand up truck – frequent standing.

- Visual acuity of 20/20-30, with or without corrected vision.

- Climbing – frequent on sit down truck and single step is frequent on Stand Up Truck.

- Frequent pushing/pulling of arms and ability to grasp with both hands; fine manipulation, simple and firm.

- Bending, stooping and crouching are an occasional (33%) task that must be performed.

- Reaching above shoulders is an intermediate task that must be performed at times.

- Use of the right foot to operate foot control.

- Visual acuity and depth perception is a must for operation of powered industrial trucks.

Communication Expectations

The position routinely requires verbal and written communication in English in order to complete the daily business requirements. Verbal communications include, but are not limited to: team meetings, work instructions to team members, communications with peers and management, and safety instructions. Written communications include, but are not limited to: department paperwork, project updates, safety walkthroughs, continuous improvement projects, and communications with peers, and management.
