Job description

Authorization Specialist needed for a busy outpatient diagnostic imaging facility. Hours will be for Mon-Fri, 9:00am- 6:00pm

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• Above average communications skills, written and verbal; ability to converse well on the telephone and in face to face situations.
• Monitor schedule for completed appointment for assigned day
• Submit authorization request to insurance carrier (website, phone)
• Follow up on pending requests
• Monitor emails, slack for high/low modality for walk-in's or same day add on
• Verify insurance effective date and benefits
• Request clinical notes if needed
• Verify orders and demographics for accuracy
• Document auth notes
• Update and approve appointments
• Verify past due balances
• Accurately update clipboard (copay, ded, coins)
• Professional communication skills

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical procedures
• Ability to learn and grow with new technology
• General computer skills
• General physics and anatomy
• Must be able to pass a background screening

EXPERIENCE:

• Two year of medical scheduling or radiology scheduling
• Two years Authorization
• Two year of medical front desk operations or radiology front desk operations
• Job type: Part Time, Evenings and Weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
