Junior Staff Accountant- Frederick, Maryland- Hybrid

National Spine & Pain Centers, the nation's largest interventional pain management practice, is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to support our Accounting and Finance team.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with accounting functions for all entities under the NSPC umbrella of companies; management of the intangible assets for all entities including goodwill, deferred loan fees, and other Intangible assets; month-end accruals; monthly close tasks; and assisting with the annual audit and tax return preparation.

Job duties will include:

  • Prepare daily Key Bank cash journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain schedules for and post monthly journal entries for all Deferred Rent accounts.
  • Maintain schedules for and post monthly journal entries for all Deferred Tenant Allowance accounts.
  • Prepare monthly Brace/TENS COGS accrual journal entries.
  • Allocate expenses for Meditech invoices received and forward to Accounts Payable for input to Kwiktag.
  • Assist with monthly revenue and accounts receivable schedules and journal entries.
  • Manage expense review process for all Concur expense reimbursements.
  • Manage expense review process for monthly AMEX charges through Concur.
  • Monitor CME reimbursements and relocation expenses (if applicable).
  • Assist Accounting Manager in implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of deferred rent, deferred tenant allowance, Concur prepaid, AMEX payable, unfavorable lease obligations and deferred sublease revenue.
  • Assist with the annual audit as needed.
  • Adhere to and uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations, the NSPC Code of Conduct, the NSPC Employee Handbook, compliance policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws.
  • Understand, comply with, and enforce all NSPC policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and OSHA and HIPAA privacy rules.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or other related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in accounting field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software, preferred.
  • Ability to work with multiple technology platforms.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to understand complex business structures.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • A satisfactory background check inclusive of driving records, criminal records, employment references, education, social security and OIG exclusions.
