Job Summary

Are you seeking an opportunity to manage the production of high-quality finished goods for all chemical manufacturing departments of a growing company? You will also be responsible for managing all maintenance needs of the production areas and facility. The successful candidate will roll up their sleeves to ensure that the team meets the day-to-day objectives.

Black Diamond Coatings is a leading manufacturer of home improvement products, including cleaners, sealers, and polymeric sand. Our Brands are DOMINATOR, AQUA-X, and OBSESS. We are seeking a hard-working and organized supervisor who can lead and motivate the production team to achieve aggressive production and shipping targets during our busy season, and then use downtime to ensure systems are improved.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Ensure the production of high-quality finished goods while optimizing the utilization of resources.
• Serve as a backup for all production and warehouse operations, providing support to the team during peak periods.
• Develop and implement efficient production plans, while undertaking additional tasks as required.
• Collaborate closely with the shipping department to maintain adequate inventory levels for daily orders.
• Develop, monitor, and evaluate metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess productivity and quality standards.
• Organize production schedules to ensure optimal levels of raw materials and finished goods inventory.
• Manage and maintain the layout and organization of the production and warehouse areas.
• Promote and embody the company culture, fostering a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
• Supervise the equipment maintenance schedule and coordinate effectively with contractors.
• Ensure compliance with efficiency and safety guidelines.
• Responsible for the hiring, evaluation, training, development, and termination of production staff.
• Develop operations manuals and standard operating procedures for production personnel.
• Ensure that production activities adhere to budgetary and time constraints.
• Manage inventory levels to facilitate the timely ordering of raw materials, utilizing appropriate documentation and tracking systems.
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, resolving production issues and knowing when to engage professional assistance for complex mechanical problems.
• Establish and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, including regular tasks for production and ancillary equipment.
• Assume responsibility for tool inventory and controls.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school or equivalent degree
• Minimum Experience: 2-5 Years of supervisory experience

• Operations - Able to drive a forklift. Ideally able to drive a large box truck for Florida deliveries; CDL is not required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment

The employee will be exposed to heat and humid conditions in our production facility, including exposure to airborne particles, noise, and vibration. The noise level can be loud. Protective clothing or equipment is required, including gloves, closed-toed shoes, and protective eyewear.

Business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm. Occasional time beyond these hours may be required as job duties and seasonality demand.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
